Mayfest 2010

Okay this video blog was supposed to be posted yesterday. It messed up twice processing and so I am just getting it done early this morning. Went out with Sean and the gang last night for Sean's Birthday. Lots of good times.

I also have a weekend part time job now working at a bar. It's definitely going to be a difference experience.

Cheers!

GAY BASHING IN TULSA!!!

This happed this last Sunday the 18th here in Tulsa, OK. I happen to know Brandon and he is not the type to start trouble and I am sure he was minding his own business. Please read the story below if you have not heard if it already and also join the facebook event in protest of this horrible act of a crime.

It happened about 11:45 last night between 12-13th off St. Louis and Rockford… 2 females and 1 male attacked him with a knife he has a knife wound the the knee that required 3 stitches and a possible knife wound to the head that required 3 staples.

They started out by calling him a faggot as he was walking down the street minding his own business and they told him not to look at them….but he didn't even look in their direction.

As he went around the corner they got in their vehicle which was a mustang late 90's early 00 model and sped toward him and the male got out of the car. he then punched him in the back of his head and that's when he started to have to defend himself. He kept telling them just to leave him alone and go about their business…

As he was restraining the male the older of the 2 females came at him and bit his cheek and began to saw at his head with a knife…then ended up stabbing him in the knee! The other 2 then jumped in after he got up from the ground and tried to get away. After he was defending himself I think they realized that he was not going to just lay there and take a beating that he was not going to let this happen to him!

October is Gay History month and if there is only one thing we have learned from our brothers and sisters who have come before us is, FIGHT BACK!!!

WITH WORDS, WITH PHONE CALLS, WITH EMAILS, WITH BLOGS, WITH STREET RALLIES, WITH FORCE!!!

A member of OUR GLBT Oklahoma Family was ATTACKED and could have been KILLED!!

what are YOU going to do about it?

DONT BRUSH THIS OFF PLEASE

OKLAHOMA NEEDS A HATE CRIME BILL TO PROTECT US!

********************************************************
update:
there is NO rally planned at this moment. if and when there will be it will be updated here.

This event post is in hope to inspire and empower you to understand ANY action is GREAT action!

So make a phone call, write an email, make a protest sign, create a rally with your friends.

these dont have to be put together to make a true impact. it just matters YOU DID SOMETHING!

Please keep Brandon in your thoughts and prayers.

United We Will Conquer This Bigotry!!

See the Post on www.queerty.com

Brandon's story has been covered by; ConnecticutNews.com, The Huffington Post, DC's MetroWeekly, Back2Stonewall.com, Southern Cali's Socalvoice.net, 365Gay.com and Queerty.com!!!

(We still need a national media outlet.. got any ideas??)

This is great progression but with the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Bill having passed through the House and moving through the Senate, We need our legislative leaders to acknowledge this horrific act as an example of why we need this piece of legislation!

Call your Senators and RAISE YOUR VOICE!!

Tom Cobur - 202/224/5754 or 918/581/7651

Jim Inhofe- 202/224/4721 or 918/748/5111

and if your feeling REALLY active call your U.S. Representative and ask what they are doing to ensure this Hate Crime Bill not only PASSES but a similar bill is created for the State of Oklahoma??

John Sullivan 202/225/2211 or 918/749/0014 Dan Boren 202/225/2701 or 918/687/2533

Frank Lucas 202/225/5565 or 405/373/1958 Tom Cole 202/225/6165 or 405/329/6500

Mary Fallin 202/225/2132 or 405/234/9900

Stand UP and STAND OUT!!

No more MATTHEW SHEPARDS!!

Click on the photo for a bigger picture.

Here is a picture of a crazy hail storm I took a few months ago at
work. Today reminded me of it with all the storms going on today.

But isn't it beautiful?
